Job purpose

In this position, you will be responsible for working and assisting others in performing their tasks efficiently in relations to crane manufacturing; tasks will vary according to where assistance is required. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in fabrication and welding.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Handle and transport material and equipment
  • Use power tools and machinery when needed (saw, drill press, grinders, etc.)
  • Assist welders, and other tradespeople when requested
  • Maintain a clean worksite from hazardous or obsolete material
  • Perform manual labour tasks (i.e. stacking, lifting, etc.) as required
  • Occasional blueprint reading
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in general labour
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
  • Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Positive attitude and work ethic

 

Working conditions & Physical Requirements

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing facility. Work will involve moderate lifting of materials and product. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protectors and CSA Approved Safety Shoes.
